General Insurance Essentials Licensing - Level 1 Salesperson/Adjuster Licensing Course

Course Description:

The General Insurance Essentials Level 1 Licensing Program is recommended for any individual looking to pursue a career in the Insurance Industry. This course provides the training required by the Insurance Council of BC to obtain a Level 1 Salesperson/Adjuster License. It covers a number of topics including: an introduction to the insurance business, insurance intermediaries and insurance companies, basic documents, insurance practices and automobile insurance. Students will also learn about law and insurance, insurance contracts, insurance organizations, fire insurance, the Homeowners policy, liability insurance, commercial coverage's, reinsurance, risk management and loss adjustment and prevention. Upon successful completion of this course, students have one year to gain employment with a licensed insurance agency or adjusting firm in order to obtain a Level 1 License. Successful graduates of this Program will be awarded a Certificate from the Insurance Institute of BC. Cost of course includes the Insurance Institute of British Columbia (IIBC) membership and administration fees as well as the examination fees. Textbooks must be purchased separately.

All face to face courses are currently cancelled at VIU. This course is not currently being offered.  

Tuition: $636.25; Lab Fees: $263.75 (IIBC membership and administration fees; and exam costs)

Total Cost of Course: $900

This course requires a minimum enrollment of 8 people to run.  If the minimum enrollment has not been met by the enrollment deadline this course will be cancelled, therefore we encourage interested persons to register early.

Instructor:

Dale Rogoza is a District Manager, Vancouver Island at Claimspro and is based in Duncan, BC. Dale Rogoza is a graduate of The Insurance Institute of BC and holds the following industry designations CIP and CRM. Dale Rogoza has been employed at Claimspro since 2008 and prior to that was employed at a National Adjusting Firm for another 31 years.

Dale Rogoza is a fully licensed adjuster in Alberta, and British Columbia. to handle Physical Damage, Bodily Injury, Accident Benefits, Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Commercial, Municipal, Trucking, Heavy Equipment, Directors and Officers, Course of Construction, Builder's Risk, Home Warranty, Farm and Livestock claims.
