General Insurance Essentials Licensing - Level 1 Salesperson/Adjuster Licensing Course

Course Description:

The GIE Level 1 Licensing Program is recommended for any individual looking to pursue a career in the Insurance Industry. This course provides the training required by the Insurance Council of BC to obtain a Level 1 Salesperson/Adjuster License. It covers a number of topics including: an introduction to the insurance business, insurance intermediaries and insurance companies, basic documents, insurance practices and automobile insurance. Students will also learn about law and insurance, insurance contracts, insurance organizations, fire insurance, the Homeowners policy, liability insurance, commercial coverage's, reinsurance, risk management and loss adjustment and prevention. Upon successful completion of this course, students have one year to gain employment with a licensed insurance agency or adjusting firm in order to obtain a Level 1 License. Successful graduates of this Program will be awarded a Certificate from the Insurance Institute of BC. Cost of course includes the Insurance Institute of British Columbia (IIBC) membership and administration fees as well as the examination fees. Textbooks must be purchased separately.
