Vancouver Island University is offering an ONLINE course to prepare participants to pass the Project Management Professional (PMP®) accreditation exam.
The Project Management Professional Exam Prep Course content is aligned to the PMP® examination content published by the PMI and the 6th Edition of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).
After taking the course, you will be able to plan for the exam by being able to:
- prepare a personal study schedule
- break down exam questions to determine the best answer
- review new exam layout and relationships between Domain, Tasks, and Enablers
- self-assess your personal proficiency in concepts from PMBOK 7th Edition
- recall PMBOK diagrams, equations, definitions, and acronyms with confidence
- discuss each of the 10 knowledge areas and explain the sub-processes
- differentiate key concepts and relevant applications behind PMBOK Tools and Techniques
- describe personal responsibility for following the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

Instructor: Ritchie Hughes, PMP, CSM, CSPO
Ritchie is a Project Management Professional (2008), Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Scrum Product Owner who is passionate about projects, project management, and change management—the keys to success in realizing outcomes and achieving goals in any organization.
In public service for the B.C. Provincial Government from 2007 to 2021, Ritchie has helped establish project management offices (PMOs) in four different ministries and co-started the Government Project Management Community of Practice. He was responsible for all project management training delivery and course design for all government ministries and personally delivered training in many communities across B.C. He has been involved in and led various project types including training and professional development, information technology, strategy development, events, project, and organizational change management implementation, and major procurements. This project work has occurred across diverse sectors: federal and provincial governments, finance, and the United Nations.
As well as projects/project management and its future direction, Ritchie is also passionate about two other things—lifelong learning and cycling.
